About daniel kanow

I live in Telluride, Colorado with my wife Joanna and my two children Ayla and Shai Ann. My family roots my life and provides me clarity and love. In this beautiful place we call home inspiration abounds from nature and the people who live here. I make art as a way to reach through the looking glass and to find my place in the world.

I teach 7th-12th grade Art at the Telluride Mountain School and happily head the art department. I received my BFA from UC Santa Cruz, my teaching credential from Humboldt State University, and apprenticed in sculpture with Ted Egri in Taos NM. Currently, I am a candidate for my MFA at the Academy of Art University in California. Continuing to push my education as an artist, to have community, and to share my passion with children and adults creates a rounded path as an artist and educator.
